ROB ZOMBIE On BUCK OWENS: 'It's A Sad Day When An American Original Passes'
March 26, 2006Rob Zombie has issued a statement regarding the passing of country music icon Buck Owens. Owens, who sold more than 16 million albums and popularized country entertainment on television as host of "Hee Haw", died on Saturday (March 25) at age 76, according to Reuters. Owens died of heart failure at his home, said his keyboard player Jim Shaw.
Commented Zombie: "The great Buck Owens has died at the age of 76. I am a huge Buck fan and was thrilled when Mr. Owens was cool enough to let me feature his songs and a clip from his show 'The Buck Owens Ranch Show' in both 'House of 1000 Corpses' and 'The Devil's Rejects'.
"It's a sad day when an American original passes.
